Safety Guidelines

We have made some changes to our safety protocols as we want to tighten security and insure safety for all at Medeiros.  We appreciate that all parents follow these protocols at all times.

  • All gates will be locked during school hours.
  • Students should not be dropped up before 8:00 a.m.
  • PLAY program is now located in the cafeteria for morning and after school care.
  • Parents need to check into and check out of the office at all times when entering the campus to volunteer, accompanying a field trip, having lunch with their child, dropping off lunch, and if picking up for any reason before school ends.
  • Parents and volunteers need to make sure that they have a visitor sticker or a volunteer badge on at all times on campus grounds.
  • During dismissal, we ask that anyone picking up children wait by the flag pole and by the fences. Parents are not permitted to wait by classroom doors.
  • If anyone is roaming around campus, they will be referred to the office to check in and get a visitor badge.

School safety has been, and will continue to be, a very high priority for the Turlock Unified School District. We know that student discipline and bullying behavior are serious concerns in American public schools these days, and TUSD has taken a very proactive approach to deal with student misconduct and bullying.

You can be assured that we take all reports of aggressive behavior or bullying very seriously and take appropriate disciplinary action according to these anti-bullying protocols. You can read more about these anti-bullying and safe schools procedures by accessing our District web site at www.turlock.k12.ca.us.  Both students and parents can contact the confidential “Hotline” at, Student Speaking Out, 209-521-4636.  This Hotline is available 24 hours, seven days a week.
